Counsel - GMSGQ - CAPEX

The Counsel - GMSGQ - CAPEX will be an important part of this team, with the key objectives of:

  • Providing legal services, amongst others, to clients from Takeda's Global Engineering group as well as Capital Procurement.
  • Being the Legal point of contact for CAPEX related matters, including day to day advise and dispute management.
  • Supporting CAPEX related projects throughout all phases, including planning, project advise, contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Actively contributing to initiatives of Takeda's global manufacturing and quality lawyer network (VPG).

A Typical Day Will Include:

As Counsel - GMSGQ - CAPEX working in the GMSGQ Legal Team, you will be empowered to:

  • Provide advice on CAPEX-matters
  • Act as interface to the Plasma-Unit
  • Align with different functions of Takeda (e.g. Finance, Treasury, Quality, Insurance, Tax)
  • Align with different regional Legal Teams on a case by case basis
  • Day to day legal counseling, drafting and negotiation of agreements in the context of CAPEX activities, incl. also all sorts of agreements related to production/plant equipment, machines or real estate (incl. related services)
  • Develop and update templates within your remit
  • Work in collaboration with colleagues from GMS, Procurement and the Legal Department
  • On demand, coordinate and oversee cases with external law firms

  • Supervises a variety of assigned tasks within its remit in coordination with the Lead Counsel Global Function Support II to whom the candidate reports into
  • Participates in CAPEX-Procurement meetings and provides training to the CAPEX-Procurement team
  • Demonstrates humility and approachability in encouraging others to challenge ideas and openly raise issues

Decision Making & Autonomy:

  • Makes decisions in alignment with the Lead Counsel Global Function Support II
  • Ensures legal risks and business opportunities are properly balanced with sound risk management
  • Articulates clear legal recommendations with the clients and legal stakeholders

Interaction:

  • Can clearly communicate with its line manager and the GMSGQ clients
  • Proactively joins - and contributes to the VPG GMSGQ and the GMSGQ projects

Complexity:

  • Advises on high value projects in alignment with the Lead Counsel Global Function Support II
  • Enables the VPG network to work collaboratively and takes on presentation tasks (e.g. updates in the respective area)
  • Creates an environment that promotes agility, information exchange and the open and honest expression of opinions, thoughts and beliefs

Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified lawyer in at least one European jurisdiction, with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong knowledge in civil law and contract law, real estate law is seen as a plus
  • First experience with strongly regulated environments, technical agreements and/or cGMP
  • Strong verbal and written communication, research, organizational as well as analytical skills
  • Team player
  • Good communication skills, including convincing presentation skills, excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with an ability to influence others
  • Fluent (spoken and written) in English, any further European language is an asset
