For our customer in the Pharmaceutical industry we are looking for a:

Scientific Communications Director

Ideal candidate:

We are looking for a Scientific Communications Director with a scientific degree (PhD or PharmaD). This person should have previous hands on experience in scientific communications (medical education and publications) gained either in an agency or pharma. Finally, we are looking for someone with experience in vendor management, especially in budget management.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of publication plans in collaboration with relevant cross-functional internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the medical team in planning and execution of various external and internal medical education activities, including, but not limited to, satellite symposia, and internal training materials and events
  • Be involved in planning and delivery of congress activities
  • Drive excellence and innovation across the scientific communication activities, including leading digital and social media initiatives
  • Provide strategic guidance to affiliates, where necessary, regarding scientific communication activities

Must Haves:

  • Strong scientific background with PhD or Pharmacy degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in haematology
  • Experience in publication management and medical education is a must
  • Hands on experience in scientific communications (either at a medical communications agency or working in a scientific/medical communications role in pharmaceutical industry)
  • Experience in external agency management including handling budgets
  • Fluent English is a must
  • Experience in gSuite is a plus, technical flair and open to learn new technologies
  • Proven ability to work closely and collaboratively with internal partners and external collaborators to deliver cross-functional initiatives
  • Cross-functional teamwork skills, including developing and maintaining trustful relationships, and productively resolving conflicts
  • Ability to operate successfully in a matrix environment with shared accountability and responsibilities
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills, including inspiring and influencing as well as having a strong customer orientation and focus
